Repurposing old items is trendy, and in the same time it is cheap way to create fascinating items, without spending a lot money and effort. You can repurpose literally everything, just let your imagination to lead you. Here we offer some DIY ideas already done at the hotel.

DIY LAMP

USE AN OLD HAT AS A LIGHT.
You’ll need a lamp cord and socket (make sure the socket is for low-temperature bulbs, also always make sure there is no risk of overheating!) A hacky statement piece, equally cool hung alone or grouped together. We have hat lamps in few rooms.

TULLE LAMP

You ’ll need a plain lamp and some tulle (based on how big it is) you can buy it in small pieces or one larger piece. This lamp reminds me of a ballerina’s tutu. Imagine a pink one hanging in your little girl’s room; or a black one in your modern bedroom! We have tulle lamp in the kitchens of our apartments

DIY BOTTLES

The sky is the limit. As it turns out, there are plenty of ways to put bottles to good use! We are staying in an easy way to recycle glass bottles. Paint them any color you like and put flowers, candles, twinkle lights, or just create a piece of art using some duck tape and more paint. Bottles can also be very useful for bracelet holder.

FURNITURE FROM PALLETS

Wooden pallets can be transformed into interesting and functional furniture for your home. A new trend in arranging homes is creating a custom corner that reflects important features or creating a room full of originality and creativity. While everyone has different tastes, your home you can be rearranged with minimal financial investments, unusual, decorative and useful pieces of furniture, sofas, tables and chairs all that made of wooden pallets. In our Hotels garden we have made a pallet sofa with pillows and a pallet table. The ways in which you can use wooden pallets are endless – you can make club table in the living room, beautiful bed in the bedroom or shelves in the kitchen. What you need is to find some pallets and then paint them the color you prefer. Have fun!

Discover the magic of craft deco and quirkiness when choosing an accommodation. Who wants to stay in a luxury Hotel with silk linen and super expensive furniture that you would be afraid to sit on. Yes I know…you! you! and you! Well think again!!

Rooms are made to be lived without being afraid that you will destroy them and then pay more that your whole vacations costs.  The thing is that you need to feel comfortable enough between comfortable quality sheets without feeling guilty if you or your child see a bad dream and pee in bed…yes it can happen!!!. What is missing from fancy hotels is “human connection” If you really believe that luxury hotels see you as persons…YOU RE WRONG! You re numbers to them! There are people that save for years just to follow the trend and visit a super luxury hotel. What is the point? Travel should be affordable and not a one day dream!! Of course you can argue with me and say” hey girl we have many extra zeros in our account and we want to spend them”. Sure go head—I am with you!! But have you ever heard about perspectives??? Hmm! don’t you want to feel more unperturbed – more human, more at home? Don’t you want see new things, fresh approaches?? The long conversations between our staff and guests have a more personal connection; we get a unique insight into someone’s life. We wholeheartedly treat them as genuine friends; we do not have to fake because they have spent hundreds of euro to stay with us so we MUST make their stay worth. The truth is that “things luxury hotels do, are more for the effect than the experience”…Instagram, Pinterest, etc!!
There’s no better feeling than enjoying the benefits of a DIY project. If you love small hotels with character and personality, it is time to embrace the richness of DIY décor. You will either hate it or love it! Art Deco can feel a bit weird at first. It’s time to stretch your imagination and embrace it because the reward is a look that is warm, exciting and glamorous. You can’t imagine what a simple bottle with candle can do for a room.

“Anxieties about industrial life fueled a positive reassess of handcraftsmanship and pre-capitalist forms of culture and society. Arts and Crafts designers aim to improve standards of decorative design and create environments in which beautiful and fine workmanship revalues governed. The Arts and Crafts movement does not promote a particular style, but it does support transformation as part of its philosophy” (Monica Obniski).

The thing is that there are people that belong to luxury style. Of course there is place to luxury travel. This is just about personal taste and personal opinion. However, trying to experience something really different may not be such a bad idea!!!Be open minded, have perspectives and when you experience something new don’t judge it, don’t brand it…Give it a chance. “If you think good design is expensive you should look at the cost of bad design” (Speth)

Hope to welcome you soon!!

DIY CLOSET WITH CHALK PAINT

Chalk paint adheres to furniture beautifully without the use of primer and (usually) no sanding. A quick cleaning is typically all you need. You can choose any color and any brand you like. It’s a really cool effect. Don’t forget after you paint it you should pass a coat of varnish or wax. Chalk paint wax will: add a sheen, enhance the colour and texture of your painted unit. Our closet is in room Comfy&Arty. We used the original black chalk paint!!!♥

DIY with Plastic & Wooden Crates

Plastic crates in general pass without giving them any attention. So far, because of their shape and their strength can be used for imaginative and very practical constructions.
We can create shelves, poof and use them for storing or putting decorating objects, etc. We can paint them with chalk pain or metallic paint and put them on the wall or in the garden. Also you can hang up wooden crates or take them down — this suitable rack can hold a lot of things. Wooden crates can even take on a very industrial feel. Regardless of your design taste, there’s certain to be an idea that will encourage a brilliant new home adding up.
